Osservazione più interessante di giornata, sempre di Gary Anderson a bordo pista.

The Mercedes is relatively buried in the rear and of course isn’t one of the high rake cars even though it has increased that a little this year.The Red Bull is pretty flat and the Ferrari is still rear-end up here which is interesting because in all my time the best solution for straightline speed is to get the rear as low as you can. So Ferrari is playing with its high rake package but I don't think it has got it sorted out mechanically yet. Hamilton ha rubato: nel miglior tempo ha tagliato la chicane; resta quindi 2° dietro la McLaren di Vandoorne (su HS).

Buona giornata per la Mercedes che chiude avanti nei tempi sia con le intermedie e pista ben bagnata che con le slick (M) nel pomeriggio; e inanella anche 128 giri nonostante il cambio di pilota.
Ferrari ha fatto solo prove con un sacco di carburante a bordo (basta vedere le sequenze di SV, corte o lunghe che fossero) segno che sono già ben avanti con l'assetto base.
L'insabbiata clamorosa di Verstappen al pomeriggio ha invece tolto parecchi giri alla RBR.

Mercedes ancora davanti ma non poteva essere diversamente.
Speriamo di restargli vicino e metterli un po’ sotto pressione e magari fargli azzardare qualche scelta sennò non c’è speranza ....
