here are some photos of a great chase I had on Friday, starting in SE Lombardia at the time of storm initiation and then continue following those impressive supercells into Veneto region. Expected initiation round 13-14z in Lombardia and got there in time.
Storm initiation south of Mantova...
Soon an insane supercell formed...
Few minutes later...
A bit further NE...
Brief funnel cloud for about 20s...
Later in western Veneto... the same supercell...
Another funnel cloud under the wall...
Then a new supercell formed to the west... with massive wall cloud...
Both supercells with wall clouds at the same time!
Then another funnel formed...
Though not sure what was this thing... it was rotating and trying to reach the ground... it came from the funnel above..
This first supercell then had an insanely impressive beaver's tail... just to worship that one!
I left this one and dropped to the new one...
A bit later...
I was then continuing towards Padova... soon wall cloud was going crazy and funnel was observed... the same as many other were seen from there when it then drag onto the Colli Euganei later... if not a tornado, thats at least massive funnel close to the ground. It was rotating rapidly!
Then going more towards Padova via highway...
When I soon got blasted by hail... hell it happened 4th time on this chase... I rather stopped before getting destroyed...
I just observed the monster going into Venice lagoon... nice wall cloud hanging there still...
And then... when sun finally came out... colors were incredible... as well as majestic structure...
Its convection was simply too explosive... towers were going up like crazy... one have to love 2000+ CAPE!
Soon I was also able to see a nice overshooting top...
Surprisedly... another overshooting top formed later... two at the same time!
The day was over... I wasn't even bother catching it as it was going close to the sea and no way I could catch it, also highway was blocked due to an accident south of Padova. But structure was relly amazing at sunset...
