I've never written before but always follow with interest this thread.

Just a question:

I've always been wondering what people living in very snowy and cold places like yours think about the weather and what are their expectations.

I mean: in Italy (especially in this board) there are a lot of "snow lovers" (me too) and they always keep on telling that this is a kind of "natural feeling", something inexplicable. They love snow, and that's all.

But I think we love snow, just because we don't see it very often, just a few days in the whole year (of course talking about plain areas).

On the other hand, living in a place where snow falls almost everyday for 9 months out of 12, I guess not much people really enjoy snow and cold, but the most of them eagerly await the summer......also among "weather lovers" as you

Am I right? Or maybe it's the contrary?

Previet Blizzard ! In your nickname it is clear what you like !

It is not correct to say that Norilchians don't like the snow and cold. Simply we live a lot of time with them and we learnt to stay togheter. You cannot immage how many things you can do with the snow and cold in winter here.

The main weather problem here in Taymjr oblast is the wind. This is terrible when there is the combination temperature + severe wind but without this last one the live is simple and without problems.

Personally I like snow and cold but I hate the wind.

Of course I understand Italian snow lovers. It is completely understandeable.

Anyway in Norilsk now I have +2.3 degrees and most cloudy.

Few snow during the night with temperature around +1 now melt.

Now it is the period of the grey and dirty street. Tomorrow we will move back again below Zero around -15 degrees in the week end.

This is completely normal in this period. Short period above Zero and few days back below Zero.
