Cool,
but not really precise for my area. I spotted 2 frames with accumulation over 12 inches around Pittsburgh. Trust me, it never happened. Max accumulation I recorded was 10 inches (25 cm), and only for a few hours.
Maybe they consider total daily accumulation and not max accumulation on the ground (or max snow cover). In that case, the data might be correct.

Checked: NOAA states max snow cover of 30 cm = 12 inches at Pittsburgh International Airport
