I've just heard on SkyNews TV that this snowfall over UK, it costed 1.2 billion £!
Heathrow airport cancelled today about 1000 flights!
No bus, no tube, few service in London! About 20 cm and the city was paralysed!
I'm waiting for more news from our Italians over the Channel.
Leon, any news from Bristol?
They said it was 18 years since UK had not a snowfall like that.

Here we had only 1 inch of snow ish...!
It actually snowed all day long, but it was only in the afternoon when the snowfall became heavier and it started to settle down properly.
Temperature below freezing the entire day. More heavier showers are expected for tomorrow, but it might turn into rain in the afternoon.
I will keep you up to date and upload some pictures as soon as I can.
Ciao,
Leon

E-mail from Liverpool arrived yesterday night from a friend of mine:
"Here as you are probably aware we are in the midst of a record snowfall. London and the south-east were worst affected, but the movement of the snow is northwards and we are expecting the worst tomorrow. I have to say that it is not too bad at the moment, but we shall see tommorow morning."

On the 2nd of February I was leaving from Dublin to Milan and my flight got cancelled because of ONE centimeter of snow, as well as any other flight given the airport was closed. I managed to leave the day after, though after 4 more hours of delay due to a half centimeter more (all they got is a SINGLE de-icer for the whole airport). I've been told it was the heaviest snowfall since 25 years (oh well...), but I couldn't help but think Dublin airport is run by a bunch of morons.
Attached you can find an image of the airport on the 3rd of February, during temporary disruption of all flights.
Cheers.
