Tropical Cyclone Ului formed in Fijian waters over the weekend as a Category 5 cyclone. Ului weakened and is still a category 4 system.
It is expected to deepen back to a category 5 system though.
At the current speed and direction, which are unlikely to vary significantly, Ului will not be appreciably near the QLD coast until Friday.
The outlook for Ului is uncertain, but there is a chance Ului will make landfall over the QLD coast south of Mackay somewhere. However, there is also a chance Ului will near the coast, but then move south parallel to the coast and weaken. As yet no Cyclone Warning or Cyclone Watch have been issued for anywhere along the QLD coast.
