NOAA predicts 2010 hurricane season one of the most active

NOAA joined a growing consensus of forecasters worried about a dangerous 2010 hurricane season ahead.

In their seasonal outlook released Thursday, NOAA "most likely" projections call for 14-23 named storms, 8-14 hurricanes, and 3-7 major hurricanes (category 3 or stronger). This is roughly in the ballpark as a forecast released from WSI (Weather Services International) earlier this week.
