...Tornati al solito tram tram invernale...Solita menata!
Il mio avatar???mai stato così azzeccato!!! Devo solo resistere fino ad Aprile!!!
The journey goes on...
After having visited Phillip Island, near Melbourne, I went towards West and travelled along one of the most beautiful roads in the world: the Great Ocean Road!
Just a fast stop in Ballarat firstly, a city established in 1851 when gold was found out. On a hill they rebuilt an example of town during the golden age, with shops, workshops and costumed actors.
Then I drove to the sea to get the famous road. What landscapes! Rainfall forests (with trees higher than 50 m!), pastures, high cliffs, great waves...
Weather was very helpful, in fact it started to rain just after I visited the last place I scheduled!
Today I came back to Melbourne under rain and tomorrow I will leave for Tasmania. They say it will be sunny. Let's hope!

Here I am at Hobart airport now.
I've just completed the Tasmanian tour with a friend of mine. What a great land!
It pretty looks like Scotland, with green pastures above hills and forests. Lots of animals, both alive (cows and sheeps) either dead (along the road, as small kangaroos and local mammals).
The soil is like red, so there are great contrast between green and red fields!
The western side of the island is very wild, with few towns but lots of forests and waterfalls because of the rainy climate (in some places the average rainfall is above 3000 mm, as close to the highest mountains). I saw snow on Cradle Mountain (1500 m) too!
The climate is very changeable, in fact rain can arrive without much warning in a short time! Temperatures are not very high and we met graupeln along our journey at about 900 m!
Now it's cloudy and windy, with 11 C. But some people don't mind it and wear just a t-shirt! Crazy!
Tomorrow morning I'm going to Ayers Rock and starting the second/hot part of my Australian tour.
Bye!
Fabrizio.
