soooo cold! Today Alykel (the airport of Norilsk) is one of the coldest weather stations of the whole Russia & Siberia. Only Hatanga is colder.

Anyway, every Scandinavian country (except Iceland and Denmark) claims to be Santa Klaus' home. We have a Santa Klaus village here as well, as does Sweden. The Finns were the quickest to spread the news around and package it for the tourists, hence the "unofficial official St. Klaus village".
We all know that he lives by the North Pole anyway. On a raft, probably.

The January average here in Tromsø is -6,5, way less than Noril'sk due to our proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The average snowcover is technically the same, as the polar night and midnight sun. We only lie a mere 20' north of Sergej's city.

Glad to know that Santa Klaus can be in many villages (at the same time??!!)....or he has many assitants...we must find the "original"

I wrote -3 or -4 C for the average of January at Tromso because I found in many climatological books several values in this range.....I know that you know better than me about Tromso, you live there. I can know why you have -6,5 C? perhaps there are many stations, and they publish habitually a more oceanic station?

My english language is bad, I prefer frensh.....or we can continue in italian in the correct section and correct 3D.

Siberian Santa Claus come on January 6th. Normally the women prepare the lunch 3 days before that include black bread, soupe, meat with vegeteables (very expensive) in winter here, then sweets with milk and............. alchool. !

In the morning we walk togheter to the local Curch, stay outside around a fire for praying and asking to the God his protection for the new year. At the end the Christmas lunch and at the end around 4 o'clock we do outside to see the fires in the sky. At the end we sing taking our hands to eachother.

We don't have dinner that day and we give our foods to the local Aid for the poor people here including nomadic people that during those days come in Noril'sk.

Yesterday since -14,2 to -7,3

Now i report -6,4 and few clouds. Today it is forecasted possible snow and for few days even if temperature should again increase. We will see. With this temperature we are on average.
