There is also a background heat source due to the constant cooling of the Earth’s interior. This slow-simmering geothermal heat flow is actually able to mix the very weakly stratified bottom waters of the Arctic.
Sembra che pensino che l'energia che viene dai vulcani sottomarini si disperda "nel nulla", senza conseguenze!
Come quelli che pensano che il gas di scarico che esce da una marmitta "si disperde nel nulla" senza conseguenze!

E comunque se l'acqua al circolo polare artico è a +10°C invece che a -5°C come invece è a 50 km più in là... mi sa tanto che "un po' " di calore in superficie ci arriva.
E quello che non ci arriva perchè si disperde nell'oceano, si trasforma in energia cinetica dell'acqua.
