The analysis indicates that Gran Sasso (Corno Grande 2913 m, heighest spot elevation of Appennini, 373 km far from Mt. Nanos) is not visible.Originariamente Scritto da Aragorth
Instead the analysis set the top of Mt. Terminillo (2216 m, 380 km far from Mt. Nanos) as visible.
I think the obstruction of Gran Sasso is due to some low croatian relief (35-40 km far from Mt. Nanos) that falls on the line of sight Nanos - Corno Grande.
By the way the top of Mt. Terminillo is the farest earth surface area the software indicates it as visible from Mt. Nanos, but I can't say this is 100% OK, because all the problem play around the value I give to the refraction factor.
Only you with your eyes could confirm or not
PS: I've seen your photos: simple... fantastic
