UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged people to stop all non-essential contact with others and stop all unnecessary travel.
The new advice is based on the fact the UK is “now approaching the fast growth part of the upward curve” in coronavirus cases and “without drastic action cases could double every five to six days."

“To slow the spread in London it is important Londoners pay special attention to what we are saying,” Johnson said.

“We need people to start working from home wherever they possibly can,” he explained.
Johnson also urged people to avoid pubs, clubs and theaters.

Non farei troppi confronti tra i singoli stati (su chi ha fatto meglio o peggio, non abbiamo la risposta e ognuno fa come può) ad eccezione del caso inglese. In fondo un limite in questi casi eccezionali è l’”eccesso di libertà” che vige nelle società occidentali.
Nei regimi autoritari il contenimento delle epidemie teoricamente è (la Cina direi che lo si può definire come tale) facilitato, perché si possono permettere di blindare tutto compresa l’economia.
Non è il chiaramente il modello che vogliamo in Occidente.

Concordo, la Cina ha fatto rispettare la quarantena... in modo non troppo democratico (ma in questi casi ci stava, perchè è stato un metodo efficace )

The UK government will not enforce its new social distancing coronavirus measures with fines or legal threats because the UK is “a mature and grown up democracy where people understand the advice being given to them,” UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.


“On powers, you may be amazed to know, this government already has tremendous powers in this field,” Johnson said.
He explained: “Don’t forget that other countries are in different stages in their movement up the curve. The crucial things is timeliness. Our interventions should be timely to have the maximum effect… when you come to more extreme measures like curfews and things we’ve seen in other countries, we’re keeping all things under review… we’re keeping school closures under...............................

Mi chiedo a questo punto che senso abbia mettere questi dati nel Coronavirus Update quando ormai è ben chiaro che ogni Stato considera morti e "critici" un pò quelli che preferisce, oltre che non è disponibile nè il dato dei tamponi, nè le caratteristiche per "accedervi"..
Ogni confronto vale quasi zero così..
