Unfortunately I won't visit Perth.
I prefered to stay in Eastern/Central Australia, just not to waste time.

Today I'm on the Blue Mointains, called in this way because of the colour of the vapour coming from eucalyptus trees. There are marvellous landscapes, with high stone walls and eucalyptus forests, like a 'green' Grand Canyon.
The town where I am now is called Katoomba and it is at 900 m above sea level. The climate is obviously cool than Sydney and this night we had about 5 C. Now it's sunny and windy, but not too cool.
Yesterday I've been in the Hunter Valley, known for the wineyards. It's about 100 km away from Sydney. Being far from the sea, yesterday morning I saw some frost on the grass, but I think temperature was not below 0 C.
Today it is expected a maximum temperature of about 22 C here, while in Sydney maybe there will be 25 C.

Just come back from Phillip Island. What a great place!
I saw my first kangaroos alive: they weren't the biggest ones, but only about 1-1.3 m tall. I also encountered many birds and visited the mangrove wood. In late afternoon I watched the "penguin parade", where lots of small penguins get out of the sea and go towards their nests. Amazing!
Wheater was really nice: warm and some clouds (cumulus).

I'm in Melbourne right now!

I arrived this morning with an 1.30-hour flight from Sydney, where I've returned after my trip to Blue Mountains.
In Sydney a maximum temperature of 31 C (never so hot from February!) was expected today, while here the sky has been always cloudy for the whole day (only on late afternoon I saw the sun) and the temperature cooler.
The city has a very European look. Furthermore there are lots of trams!

Today I visited the art gallery and the Victoria markets. Tomorrow I will have another visit in the centre and in the afternoon I'll go to Phillip island to watch penguins.

Really nice place Australia!

Cloudy in Melbourne? It's not unusual.
