California is worldwide famous mostly for its biggest cities, esp for LA and SF. When hearing the word "California", most people think of the lavish lifestyle of Malibu and Beverly Hills. That's not California. It is, at most, just a part of it. The truth is that its landscape is so wide and diverse that you can really find a lot of different kinds of weather as well.
Believe it or not, I'm pretty sure that the biggest U.S. ski resorts are actually set in California.
I guess the area around Yosemite can be pretty snowy at times. Would be nice to know a lil bit more.

I think Mammoth Mountain ski resort (CA) is one of the biggest in the US... About 3500 acres... However, California is plenty of ski-areas... Clik here!

Blue Canyon, CA has a yearly avarage snowfall (1914-2005) of 252 in. It's 170 kms north from Yosemite Prk (pretty close to lake Tahoe) and at about 1600 mts above sea level.

That's pretty good, more or less the same as the snowiest Alpine towns.

Amazing photos! Last year I was in Syracuse, NY County... but it was only september I'd like to spend one winter there. Lake snow effect it's fantastic for snow lovers. I saw Ontario lake when I went to Toronto; it's really as big as an our sea!
