TThe UK Met Office expects severe weather conditions in the country. There is a warning for gales , heavy snow and blizzard. All the west part of the isle will be interest.
Here is the today bulletin and warning:
The Met Office is forecasting much colder weather to spread southwards across the UK during Friday and persisting into Saturday giving heavy snow in places. Accumulations of 10cm of snow could occur locally with up to 20cm on higher ground. Areas most at risk include northern and western Scotland and Northern Ireland from early on Friday, along with parts of western England and Wales later Friday into Saturday. Snow combined with gales across Scotland will lead to blizzard conditions and snow drifts. Disruption to transport and power networks is likely and the public are advised to take extra care. This warning will be updated around 1200 Thursday 31st January 2008.

Areas most at risk include Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland from early on Friday, extending to northern and central England and much of Wales on Friday afternoon, and perhaps into southern areas on Friday evening. Northern areas could see accumulations of 10cm of snow, with up to 20cm on higher ground, and blizzard conditions and snow drifts could occur in strong winds. Southern areas could see accumulations of 2 to 5cm of snow by Saturday morning. Disruption to transport and power networks is likely and the public are advised to take extra care. This warning will be updated by 1200 Friday 1st February unless superseded by Flash warnings.

Strauch, I can tell...the warning was far too much... They had snow only in Scotland and in the far north of England (Yorkshire mainly). I think today was the sunniest day of 2008 here in Bristol...
Now snowfall are moving towards East Anglia... and easing off...
That's the second time in the month that MetOffice fail a short term forecast...

Hi Leon! Yes, you're right. Looking at today weather conditions in most of the english stations there is nothing of really interesting to say. It' seems that even in "perfida Albione" weatherman find not easy to forecast
I call a friend of mine in Tarbert (isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides) and he said that the wind was really blowing as hell and it snowed a little bit.
Lets see the next round, it seems that also Monday things are going to be interesting
